The Sacrificial Merger

The Sacrificial Merger is the process by which Nine tears off pieces of her lost self (phantom tails) to merge with dying heroes who upheld the Vow of The Animals of Virtue.

Each merger creates a new tail — a true element in the shape of a tail, housing that hero's soul. The souls are not clones — they are sentient, autonomous aspects with their own will, memories, and tragic origins.
