Nine

Unstable Nine Kitsune is the central character of the universe — an ancient, ethereal entity cursed to walk the world as the True Kitsune of Misfortunes & Wisdom.

Physical Form

Tall, commanding, fully anthropomorphic Kitsune. True Kitsune maw, large vigilant fox ears. Deep enigmatic purple eyes. Her original midnight-purple fur is permanently stained blood-red from countless battles and sacrifices — a visible record of every Vow upheld. The resulting shade is blood-red suspended within a midnight-purplish sea.

The Curse

Cursed to walk the world as the True Kitsune of Misfortunes & Wisdom. Her true nemesis is herself — her belief that assisting herself is a selfish act. She welcomes all external burdens but refuses to ease her own. She sees asking for help as selfish, yet will always assist and listen to others.

Source of Instability

Her instability comes from her sheer will alone — not the elements she holds. The emotional and identity stress of having torn off parts of her own being to house nine distinct personalities. Her control is a moment-to-moment battle.

Origin Story

Nine was once a true nine-tailed kitsune of the forests in unknown lands. She was hunted and used for her tails — they were worth a king's ransom. By the end, she was tailless. A No-Tailed Kitsune does not belong in the forest. So she traveled, wandering the realm for decades, turned away from every place she found.

See Arc 1: Origin for the full story of her encounter with Eliza and the first sacrificial merger.
